After the PSLE Written Papers: A Screen-Light Play Plan

Quick answer: The 2026 PSLE written papers run from Thursday, 24 September to Wednesday, 30 September 2026. MOE’s academic calendar gives that window. SEAB’s 2026 timetable puts Higher Mother Tongue on 30 September, so a candidate who is not sitting Higher Mother Tongue finishes the written papers on 29 September, with Science. Results are still unconfirmed. The November detail is in the FAQ. For the afternoons after the last paper, we suggest one screen-light build and one short game, not another assessment book. Prices below are the toytag.com prices on 30 September 2026. MOE does not endorse these toys.

When do the 2026 PSLE written papers end?

Wednesday, 30 September 2026 is the last day of the written window, not a paper for every candidate. On the MOE calendar the entry reads “PSLE--Written”, Thursday 24 September through Wednesday 30 September. SEAB’s rules booklet, Annex A, splits the standard papers like this:

  • Thursday, 24 September — English Language
  • Friday, 25 September — Mathematics
  • Monday, 28 September — Mother Tongue
  • Tuesday, 29 September — Science
  • Wednesday, 30 September — Higher Mother Tongue Papers 1 and 2

Foundation papers and other languages sit inside the same window. The booklet is the subject-by-subject list. This article is not a second timetable. Oral exams were 12 and 13 August 2026, and listening comprehension was Tuesday, 15 September 2026. Those are already past.

We checked these dates on 30 September 2026 against MOE’s academic calendar (last updated 2 June 2026), MOE’s national examinations page (last updated 27 March 2026), SEAB’s important dates (last updated 13 August 2026), and the SEAB booklet above.

Is the day after the papers a holiday?

Not as a long break. Term 4 for MOE Kindergartens, primary, and secondary still runs to Friday, 20 November 2026 on that same calendar. Thursday, 1 October is inside the term. Friday, 2 October 2026 is Children’s Day, a school holiday for MOE Kindergartens and primary schools, not a public holiday on that calendar. We already wrote a Children’s Day gift shortlist. This article is the Primary 6 plan for the days after the written papers, not a second list for every age.

The calendar also has a PSLE marking exercise from Monday, 12 October to Wednesday, 14 October 2026. SEAB says schools will make arrangements to facilitate that exercise. We do not read those three days as a promise that every child stays home. The useful move is to follow the school’s own notice.

The year-end school holiday on the MOE calendar starts Saturday, 21 November 2026. We are not pinning the weeks after the papers to a single morning in November. The results detail is in the FAQ.

A small screen-light plan for the first week

The papers ending is not a new syllabus. For the first week we would keep three kinds of afternoon, and skip anything that needs a login.

  1. One build with no app. Smartivity Electro Play Lab, Smartivity Mini Tennis, the 3Doodler Start+ pen, or the Gigo electricity set. Hands, a table, and something finished the same day or the next.
  2. One short game with another person. Quarto, Squadro, or Hanamikoji. Fifteen minutes is enough. Nobody needs to “win the holiday”.
  3. One evening that can include a sibling, if the age on the box allows it. Kopi King is for ages 6 and up. Mooncake Master and Quetzal are for ages 10 and up, so those stay with older players.

CircuitMess CircuitPet is the extra, not the default. It is for ages 11 and up, the closest box age here to a typical Primary 6 child, and the build includes soldering. The finished object is a digital pet, so it is a make-then-play project with its own small screen, not a screen-free toy.

LEGO Education BricQ Motion Essential (45401) stays off this list. It is for age 6 and up and grades K–5, and on 30 September 2026 it is SGD 249.90. That is a younger fit than this plan. It sits on the Children’s Day shortlist for lower and middle primary. For other ages, the educational toys age-by-age guide is the wider map. Collection filters are only a browse aid. When a filter and the toy disagree, we follow the age given for the toy.

Post-PSLE shortlist

Twelve toys we sell, for the week after the papers. “About P6” is a parent hint, not a rule. The age given for the toy is the rule. Where two ages appear, or two experiment counts, both stay.

Gift Age Price (SGD) Fits
Smartivity Electro Play Lab 8–14 39.90 Screen-light circuits. No app.
Smartivity Mini Tennis 6–14; 2 players 26.90 Build, then play. A younger sibling can share it.
3Doodler Start+ Essentials Pack Both 6+ and 8+ 84.00 A pen that draws a shape to hold. Sold as both 6+ and 8+.
Experiments – Electricity & Magnetism (Gigo) 8+ 83.00 Science build. Two experiment counts. 2 AA batteries not included.
Quarto Mini 8–99; 2–4 players, best with 2 39.90 Quiet two-player strategy. The Classic is SGD 59.90.
Squadro Mini 8+; 2 players 39.90 Short abstract game, 10+ minutes. The Classic is SGD 59.90.
Hanamikoji 10+; 2 players 24.90 15-minute two-player card game.
Mooncake Master 10+; 1–6 players 20.00 Family or solo tile game. Not for a much younger sibling.
Quetzal 10+; 2–5 players 55.90 15-minute strategy when everyone playing is 10+.
Kopi King (5th Anniversary Edition) 6+; 1–6 players 20.00 Younger sibling can join. A Singapore card game, not a STEM kit.
CircuitMess CircuitPet 11+ 179.90 Longer soldering build. Ends as a digital pet, not screen-free.
LEGO Education 45522 Computer Science & AI Age 11+. Also labelled grades 6–8 879.90 Bigger purchase only. Not the default gift.

Builds that stay off a screen

Smartivity Electro Play Lab

Smartivity Electro Play Lab is the circuit build we would put down the afternoon after Science. It is an 8-in-1 around charges, current, and circuits, with a small figure called Volt-E, and it never asks for an app or a login. A much younger sibling may not be ready for it. For ages 8 to 14, it costs SGD 39.90.

Smartivity Mini Tennis

Smartivity Mini Tennis is the build we would share with a younger primary sibling. Mechanical rackets, a scoreboard, and more than one way to play, and the play is 100% screen-free. Ages 6 to 14 cover both of them, which Electro Play Lab does not. Two players, SGD 26.90.

3Doodler Start+ Essentials Pack

The 3Doodler Start+ Essentials Pack is for a Primary 6 child who would rather draw something they can hold than fill another worksheet. The pen lays down plastic strands that set into a shape, and it has no hot parts. It is sold both as safe from age 6 and as designed for age 8 and up, so a Primary 6 child sits comfortably inside either. The pack is SGD 84.00.

Experiments – Electricity & Magnetism

Experiments – Electricity & Magnetism, from Gigo Toys, is a science afternoon rather than a five-minute unwrap. The build covers circuits, the difference between a permanent magnet and an electromagnet, and a 50-page manual. The set is counted both as “10 models plus 7 experiments” and as “10 Models / Courses”. It needs 2 AA batteries, which are not in the box. For ages 8 and up, with 137 pieces, it costs SGD 83.00.

CircuitMess CircuitPet

CircuitMess CircuitPet is the longer make, for a family that wants a project rather than an hour off screens tonight. No prior knowledge is required. The hardware skills still include soldering and electronic components, with a step-by-step guide, and we would keep that soldering supervised. Eleven and up is the closest age on this list to a typical Primary 6 child. It is not screen-free. The finished piece is a digital pet, in the Tamagotchi tradition, that can run small games. It costs SGD 179.90.

Two-player games for a quiet afternoon

Quarto Mini

Quarto Mini is the game we would leave on the table for a parent and a Primary 6 child who are tired of talking about papers. Players hand each other a piece. The piece has four features, and the trap is giving away a winning one. There is no screen and no setup speech. It runs from ages 8 to 99, best with two players, though two to four can sit down, in about ten minutes. The Mini is SGD 39.90. The Classic is SGD 59.90.

Squadro Mini

Squadro Mini does the same quiet job as Quarto, so we would not buy both unless the household already loves this kind of play. Each side tries to move pieces across the board and back. Blocking can send a piece home and hand the other player extra movement. Two players from ages 8 and up, in ten minutes or more. The Mini costs SGD 39.90 and the Classic costs SGD 59.90.

Hanamikoji

Hanamikoji is a card game for a Primary 6 child and one adult, or for two older children. It is not a party, and it is not for a younger sibling. Two players compete for the favour of seven geisha by collecting performance items. Two players from ages 10 and up, in about fifteen minutes, for SGD 24.90.

A table that fits more than two

Mooncake Master

Mooncake Master ³ is the small Singapore tile game for a Primary 6 child and whoever else at the table is old enough, and it can be played solo. Players draw and fit mooncake quarter-tiles and sell them to fussy customers. A much younger sibling is not the audience. From ages 10 and up, one to six players, in about twenty minutes. It costs SGD 20.00.

Quetzal

Quetzal is short enough for a weeknight, and only when everyone playing is 10 or older. A Primary 4 sibling does not fit. Each turn starts by rolling meeples and sending a team out to collect objects. From ages 10 and up, two to five players, in fifteen minutes. It costs SGD 55.90.

Kopi King (5th Anniversary Edition)

Kopi King, in this 5th Anniversary Edition, is the card game we would open when a six-, seven-, or eight-year-old is at the table. Orders, ingredient cards, and a Singapore kopi counter. It is not a science kit, and we are not dressing it up as one. If the players are only a Primary 6 child and a parent, Quarto or Hanamikoji is the tighter fit. From ages 6 and up, one to six players, in fifteen to twenty minutes. It costs SGD 20.00.

A bigger kit, only if the family already wants one

LEGO Education 45522 Computer Science & AI

LEGO Education 45522 Computer Science & AI is a classroom-scale set, and we would not buy it as the post-exam gift beside Mooncake Master. In a Singapore home we read the box age, 11 and up, as roughly Primary 5 or 6 through Secondary 2. The set is also labelled grades 6–8. That is the maker’s label, not an MOE level, and MOE does not endorse this kit. On 30 September 2026 the price is SGD 879.90.

The set comes with 30 lessons, a teacher portal, and a coding canvas that is a web application, with an iOS app also named. That is a screen, used on purpose. The kit is complementary to SPIKE, not a successor, and not a replacement for a SPIKE set the family already has. A school buyer who wants the longer note can read our Computer Science & AI article for Singapore schools. This plan stays with families. We do not run school demos from this list.

Pickup at Woods Square, or delivery

Order on toytag.com. Website orders get free 2-day Singapore shipping only once the basket reaches SGD 50. No minimum applies only to B2B and school orders, and that path is not what this plan is for. We do not promise a named arrival day. Several games here sit under SGD 50 on their own. The free-shipping line is about the basket, not about each toy.

Self-collection is at Woods Square: 10 Woodlands Square, #04-42, Woods Square SOLO 1, Singapore 737714. The store location page, checked on 30 September 2026, gives the same unit as “10 Woods Square #04-42, SOLO 1, Singapore 737714”, with hours Monday to Friday, 12:00 pm–5:30 pm (GMT+8). Saturday and Sunday are closed. We suggest checking those hours before a trip, in case they change. Children’s Day is a Friday and a school holiday, not a public holiday, and we would not assume a special opening.

FAQ: after the PSLE written papers

When do the 2026 PSLE written papers end?

The written window on MOE’s academic calendar is Thursday, 24 September 2026 to Wednesday, 30 September 2026. SEAB’s 2026 timetable, Annex A of the PSLE rules booklet, puts Higher Mother Tongue Papers 1 and 2 on Wednesday, 30 September. English is Thursday, 24 September; Mathematics is Friday, 25 September; Mother Tongue is Monday, 28 September; Science is Tuesday, 29 September. A candidate who is not sitting Higher Mother Tongue finishes the written papers on 29 September. The booklet also places foundation and other-language papers inside that same window.

When will the 2026 PSLE results be released?

Results are not confirmed. MOE’s national examinations page and SEAB’s important-dates page both give a tentative window of Tuesday, 24 November 2026 to Wednesday, 25 November 2026. SEAB’s note says the actual date can be confirmed only when the processes are complete, and that it is then announced through the media. The PSLE rules booklet says results are usually released in mid-November, and that the school informs candidates at least one week before the release. The year-end school holiday starts Saturday, 21 November 2026, so that window falls inside the holiday already on the calendar. We are not treating the tentative window as a fixed day.

Are Primary 6 children on holiday the day after the papers?

Not as a block of leave. MOE’s 2026 calendar keeps Term 4 for MOE Kindergartens, primary, and secondary running until Friday, 20 November 2026. Thursday, 1 October sits inside that term. Friday, 2 October 2026 is Children’s Day, a school holiday for MOE Kindergartens and primary schools. The same calendar has a PSLE marking exercise from Monday, 12 October to Wednesday, 14 October 2026. SEAB says schools will make arrangements to facilitate that exercise. We do not read those three days as a promise that every child stays home. The year-end school holiday on that calendar starts Saturday, 21 November 2026.

What play fits a Primary 6 child in the first week after the papers?

We would keep it small. One screen-light build, such as Smartivity Electro Play Lab (ages 8 to 14, SGD 39.90) or the Gigo electricity set (ages 8 and up, SGD 83.00). One short two-player game, such as Quarto Mini (ages 8 to 99, SGD 39.90) or Hanamikoji (ages 10 and up, SGD 24.90). CircuitMess CircuitPet (ages 11 and up, SGD 179.90) is the longer make, and it ends as a digital pet rather than a screen-free toy. The point is one finished afternoon, not a new syllabus.

Which of these games also work with a younger sibling?

We follow the age given for the toy. Smartivity Mini Tennis is for ages 6 to 14 (SGD 26.90), so a younger primary sibling can share the build. Kopi King is for ages 6 and up (SGD 20.00), with one to six players. Mooncake Master, Hanamikoji, and Quetzal are for ages 10 and up, so we would not put those in front of a much younger child. Quarto runs from ages 8 to 99.

Is the LEGO Education Computer Science and AI kit a sensible post-exam gift?

Only as a bigger purchase a family has already decided on. The 45522 box is Age 11+, the price on 30 September 2026 is SGD 879.90, and the set is also labelled grades 6–8. We read 11 and up as roughly Primary 5 or 6 through Secondary 2. The grade line is the maker’s label, not an MOE level. The kit is complementary to SPIKE, not a successor, and it is a poor default beside a SGD 20 game. The coding canvas is a web application, with an iOS app also named, so this is not a screen-free afternoon. MOE does not endorse the kit. The longer note for a classroom buyer is our Computer Science and AI schools article.

How does a family order reach a Singapore home, or Woods Square?

Website orders get free 2-day Singapore shipping only once the basket reaches SGD 50. No minimum applies only to B2B and school orders, and that path is not what this plan is for. We do not promise a named arrival day. Pickup is at Woods Square: 10 Woodlands Square, #04-42, Woods Square SOLO 1, Singapore 737714. Hours are Monday to Friday, 12:00 pm–5:30 pm (GMT+8). Saturday and Sunday are closed. WhatsApp is +65 8448-2258 and email is pokeus@toytag.com.

One build, or one short game

The written window ends on 30 September 2026. We suggest one age-fit build or one short game, then an order on the site once the basket is ready, or collection at Woods Square. The age given for the toy still matters more than the school year. For every other age, the age-by-age guide is the place to look.
