  • Peppermint may appear to grow slowly at the beginning. Once it gets going it will quickly produce a lot of stems.
  • Peppermint is ready for first harvesting in about four to five weeks after planting. Gently trim off the tips of the plant, it will encourage new growth.
  • It takes just one lamp arm to grow Peppermint. If the stems are about to touch the lamp, just cut them back.
  • As it grows, Peppermint may look like a small ball of mess. Do not be alarmed, this is perfectly normal!
  • If some lower leaves age and turn brown, feel free to cut the stem off - new stems will grow soon.
  • Have some leftover Peppermint leaves? No worries, Peppermint is great for drying and can be used later to brew tea. Just lay the leaves on a paper towel to dry and then store in a jar.

  • There is no limit to the number of seedlings per pod for basil. Just let it thrive!
  • It takes just one lamp arm to grow Holy Basil. If the stems are about to touch the lamp, just cut them back.
  • Holy Basil likes being cut so it can produce more yield! You can start trimming your plants approximately one month after planting. You may remove single leaves occasionally.
  • Trimming your plant will also delay flowering and keeps the plant compact and low. Also, the pod will last longer.
  • Please note that Holy Basil is an annual plant. It does not last forever. If it has been over twelve weeks and the plant looks aged, it is time to replace the pod.
  • Holy Basil is great for drying and this way you can save it for later. It is good to have some dried leaves in storage so you can enjoy a nice cup of herbal tea any time.
